ABOUT:

As one family member struggles with addiction, the interwoven dynamics of family life unravel and re-form in extreme and unrecognisable ways. It is a story of eternal love, intense pain and funny nuances of personal family life.

This work takes place in a surreal landscape curated by the exasperations of the distorted psyche. The house as a metaphorical space archives the memories and the emotions of the family and, like its members, it changes shape, to keep accommodating every character in the family puzzle. In this domestic environment, stories, memories and emotions unfold allowing surreal images to appear. In the search of a solution, domestic yet surrealist scenes will follow each other, highlighting and exasperating emotions and dynamics in order to suggest that ‘nothing changes unless something changes’. The absurdity of situations and emotions involved becomes tangible through the set design bringing humour to this thought-provoking show.
